Hat Set

I actually call these "Blood and Roses".  I think you can see why.  XD

I've had the hat since like 1999 or 2000 I think it was?  A friend of mine bought it for me at the Puyallup Fair that year and honestly, I never thought I actually looked all that great in hats, but apparently I rock this one, according to a couple local friends of mine.  The original hat band was just a basic pleather thing with studs on it that buckled.  I had randomly found a clean and unused horseshoe nail and stuck it in the hat band, and I picked up the white tiger pin at Point Defiance Zoo in 2005.  XD

So, what happens?  My muse decides that I need to make a new hat band for it!  Well, I did a simple wire wrap for the nail and added it to the center dangle.  There's also silver feathers with mother of pearl spikes, faceted red glass beads, silver rose beads, and yes, the two silver beads on the center dangle are in fact skulls with roses on them, black horn spacers and hair pipes, shell beads, black and red glass seed beads, metal rings (the ones in the Byzantine Chain segment I made by hand), waxed nylon cord, shell minder beads, and hematite beads and red/black rooster feathers held on by tin cones and black pony beads at the ends of the ties.

Of course, my Muse decided I needed to have a matching choker and bracelet for the hat band, so yeah.  The spike on the center dangle is a series of black and red glass beads to mimic the horseshoe nail (since I didn't have a second nail), and the bracelet actually has a dangle on it (sort of a blend of the dangles on the choker and hat band).  I think it turned out pretty cool, actually.  XD

The insert is the random earring I ended up making because the charm dangle on the bracelet came off (the part below the skull) and I couldn't find it so I made a new one, then randomly found the missing piece about an hour later, so instead of taking it apart, I made an earring.  Yes, random tiggy is random.  XD
