Stamp Text:
Freedom of Speech
does NOT give you
license to be an ass

Description:
I have seen far too many people abuse the "Free Speech" card to justify what they say, whether in real life or on line. While I am all for Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression, there are very distinct limits to that freedom. Many of these jackasses cry "Freedom of Speech!" when they get called out for:
:bulletred: Hate Speech or Hate Images (includes racism, sexism, religious prejudice or sexuality prejudice, etc)
:bulletred: Stalking, Harassment, and Trolling behaviour (includes Block Evasion to continue said behaviour)
:bulletred: Bullying, Insulting, and Abusive language (swearing =/= abusive language, it is used to punctuate a point)
:bulletred: Attacking others for having an opinion or belief (or lack there of)

Of course these people often disable comments and/or block anyone and everyone not playing along and validating their self centered and biased views, including blocking anyone with a different opinion from theirs. Guess what guys, "Freedom of Speech" does NOT grant you the license or right to do any of this. Yes, you can give voice to your opinion, but the minute you start using hate speech or abusive words, your "Freedom of Speech" license is revoked. This does not include simple reasonable requests, direct observations, educated facts, or personal (non-prejudicial) opinions. And going through the internet deliberately trying to find things to be offended at to justify your ass-hattery towards others is just asking for an internet bitch slap and potential ridicule of your butthurtedness on sites like Encyclopedia Dramatica (as much as I dislike that site on principle).

Now I KNOW some people are going to bitch at me and claim that my "Dear Bronies" stamp and the description I wrote is hate speech and try to call me a hypocrite. Um, your being butthurt over someone making the simple request of "Keep off topic deviations out of fandom specific groups!" does not mean I posted any sort of hate speech or abusive language, guys. Learn the difference and grow up, people.

Further reading to prove my point.

And apparently since SOME PEOPLE seem to think the word "Butthurt" is, and I quote, "a homophobic rape joke and violent hate speech", apparently I get to educate everyone on what that word ACTUALLY MEANS!  (Sources: Wictionary, Urban Dictionary, and "Know Your Memes")

Butthurt - slang
Adjective: Overly annoyed, bothered, or bugged because of a perceived insult; needlessly offended.
Noun: Annoyance because of a perceived insult.  Upset because of a perceived injustice.

An inappropriately strong negative emotional response from a perceived personal insult. Characterized by strong feelings of shame. Frequently associated with a cessation of communication and overt hostility towards the "aggressor."

Butthurt is an online slang term used to describe a strongly negative or overemotional response. It is used to draw attention to a person who shows signs of being irritated due to a perceived insult, an unfavorable situation, or a lack of decent communication. On occasions, it can be also used to describe unreasonable users behaviors without an apparent explanation.

Note: Comments welcome, but be polite, no trolling, and if I do not have a critique request posted, do not offer critiques. I do not tolerate trolls and excessively negative people. Do NOT use my stamps as a free license to start a debate; that is NOT why I post stamps. I post stamps to share them with like minded people for their enjoyment, and for those who support what the stamps are about to feature in their collections or favourites. And if I state “End Of Line” in a conversation, it means the conversation is over for a reason and I will not be responding. If you insist on continuing to comment after I have given that warning, you will be blocked with no further warning or discussion.

Permission to feature this in Collections, Journals, etc is freely granted. You are not allowed to repost my stamps on DA or anywhere else. Some of these are very personal and I will not grant permission for their use on DA or elsewhere nor will I grant permission for these stamps to be reposted anywhere for any reason. Do not copy my designs either. These are personal pieces and will not be for sale at any point in time.

It kind of does, that's covered in the concept of freedom of speech.

However, freedom of speech doesn't grant you freedom from consequences. You have to grow up and mature, and realise that if you only talk and act unpleasantly to others, then you will be viewed as an unpleasant person, and will lose friends, contacts, etc.
