I am posting this as a warning to all Transformers fans on my watch list. I have received confirmation directly from Hasbro through a reliable contact that the DVD pictured above is a 3rd party bootleg ripoff, ergo stolen and not a legitimate product. The photos were taken from an Ebay seller here --> [link]
and the company distributing it is here --> [link]
It is being made in and sold from Malaysia and is not a licensed product. My ONLY reason for posting the photos in my scraps is to warn others not to purchase this DVD. Here are all the bootleg copies being sold on Ebay so far, please help report these stolen products to Ebay as bootleg merchandise. If you find one that is not listed, please let me know so I can add it to the list and help by reporting all listings selling these bootleg ripoffs.:
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! THEY ARE SELLING BOOTLEG PRODUCTS, STOLEN MERCHANDISE! By buying these bootleg DVD's you are receiving stolen property which is punishable by law. I found out about it only because someone posted the exact same photo of the front cover in the group
For those who think the DVD is from Japan: It's a bootleg from Malaysia! All of the listings say the menu is in Chinese, the subtitles are in English and Chinese, and that it is produced/authorized in Malaysia. The "Asian Characters" are even Chinese! How does anyone get Japan from that? Sorry, but Malaysia is NOT in Japan! Malaysia is South of India with Singapore just South of Malaysia. Japan is east of Korea. Malaysia and Japan are about as far from each other as Canada and Mexico. Google map search it, duh! [link]
Yes, I took and reposted the photos of the bootleg DVD, but I admitted they are not mine, I linked to where I got them, and I did so in order to show people what the bootleg ripoff looks like. Nothing more. I NEVER took credit for them, nor did I claim them as mine. As for my "connection to Hasbro", yes I do in fact know people directly connected to Hasbro. I will not reveal them because I do not want people harassing them, though I know people are going to call me a liar if I don't reveal my sources. If my sources and connections wish to reveal themselves, it is their choice. I know how to keep a confidence. Duh. I was not born yesterday, and I do my research.
It makes me sick that these thieves are selling not just Transformers Prime, but 8 other Transformers titles and who knows what other Hasbro or Takara property they have stolen. This is why I am putting the word out to others not to buy these bootleg DVD's. Support the companies that brought to life the characters we love, not some thief hiding in another country.
Transformers: Prime Japan Volume 6 and 7 are out but not on Amazon as yet, I will update the image and list as soon as it and future releases are available. You can also get them here --> [link]

Thanks for the heads up and the official pictures of the DVD covers.
You can still buy them from Amazon, but ONLY from Amazon.com THEMSELVES. Their product is always listed first or in bigger, bolder font and the 3rd party sellers are listed under them. I am a regular at Amazon.com and only buy from 3rd party sellers that I KNOW are legit.
This is one thing you can tell it is not a legit item on a DVD. If it states Region 0 or Region free, there is no such thing as a Region 0 and Region free, that designation is for a home computer created region, which means it was not done in a factory, it was done at home of the bootlegger or at a place where he can do it multiple times and be able to produce several DVDs on a computer of his and package them and sell them claiming that they're from either Japan or some other country and they're not even from those countries.
Everyone knew that Japan was going to air TF: Prime Season 1 in a few weeks after these FAKE DVDs were produced with Chinese lettering on it. How can people claim that DVD is from Japan if they have Chinese lettering on it, claiming that it came from Region 0? I'm sorry but Japan's Region is not 0, but Region 2. Seriously, they are Region 2, not Region 0. Japan is south east of China, not in China and the Japanese would be speaking Chinese, not Japanese if they lived in China. Plus everyone knew that the Japanese would produce the DVDs later on in the year, not when they just put the show on the air on Japanese TV. They would be stupid to sell the DVDs at the same time as in airing the series on TV.
If anyone wants to see what the real, legit cover looks like, go here and take a browse: Transformers: Prime Vol 1 Japan DVD., Transformers: Prime Vol 2 Japan DVD, Transformers: Prime Vol 3 Japan DVD, Transformers: Prime Vol 4 Japan DVD, Transformers: Prime Vol 5 Japan DVD.
Volume 6 has not been released as of yet. Those links takes you to Amazon.com and there you can see the legit and very much official covers of Transformers: Prime Japan DVDs. If anyone has a different image on their Japan DVDs, they bought a bootleg.
Trailblazer (Transformers OC)
I wish more people would accept and realize that this is a huge issue that really needs to be dealt with. I've heard a lot of people say they won't buy licensed TF toys for whatever lame excuse they come up with. The problem is, if they buy the knockoffs, they hurt Hasbro, and by hurting Hasbro, they hurt the fandom because if Hasbro is not getting revenue from sales, we don't get more toys to add to our collections, and we don't get the awesome shows like Transformers Prime. The sale of the toys and DVD's is what makes it possible for Hasbro Studios to make the shows we love in the first place. I wish people would understand that.
