Rise as the Mountains

As the great mountains rise from the rolling sea,
so shall we rise from the trials of life stronger
than that which attempts to break us down.

Description:
This is a photo of Mt Rainier near where I live. At 14,411 feet, Rainier is the largest of five volcanoes in Washington state and is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world due to the type of volcano and the size and number of permanent glaciers it harbors, as well as Rainier's proximity to nearby cities. It actually has three summit peaks across it's broad flat top - Columbia Crest (14,411 ft), Point Success (14,158 ft), and Liberty Cap (14,112 ft) and a secondary peak, Little Tahoma Peak (11,138 ft) on its east flank. Mt Rainier can be seen from as far North as Everett to as far South as Mt St Helen's and Mt Adams. St Helen's blocks the view of Rainier from Vancouver Washington to the South (not to be confused with Vancouver British Columbia), otherwise you would be able to see it from the Vancouver/Portland area as well. The other two volcanoes in Washington are Mt Baker and Glacier Peak to the North.

The saying in the image is my own as well, written for this picture. I actually snapped this photo while I was on the bus heading home (which is why it's a little blurry) and was able to catch a good view of the Mountain coming up to the crest of a hill. There are quite a few places to catch good views of Rainier, you just have to know where to look. **smiles** I'll try to catch better, clearer shots soon, weather permitting. When I do, I will offer it as a downloadable and as prints like this one.
