Cybertron's Toxic Atmosphere

Description

Description:
As Cybertron is a machine world with no organic life and in multiple continuities (particularly noted in TF Prime) the atmosphere is said to be quite toxic to organic life forms, I thought I would do a bit of poking around and see if I could figure out a probable atmospheric composition for Cybertron. I started with Earth's atmosphere as a base model, then looked at Titan, Venus, and Mars for additional comparisons, and finally looked at the likely common elements that might be found on Cybertron based on the probable makeup of the planet's surface and the robotic life forms living there. This is what I eventually came up with as a probable composition for Cybertron's atmosphere based on canon information and real world planetary models.

For a comparison, here's Earth, Titan, Mars, and Venus:

Earth's Atmosphere = Dry air contains roughly (by volume) 78.09% Nitrogen, 20.95% Oxygen, 0.93% Argon, 0.039% Carbon Dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Air also contains a variable amount of Water Vapor, on average around 1%. Trace elements include Neon, Helium, Methane, Krypton, Hydrogen, Nitrous Oxide, Carbon monoxide, Xenon, Ozone, Nitrogen dioxide, Iodine, and Ammonia (NH3).

Titan's Atmosphere = The atmospheric composition in the stratosphere is 98.4% Nitrogen—the only dense, Nitrogen-rich atmosphere in the Solar System aside from the Earth's—with the remaining 1.6% composed of mostly of Methane (1.4%) and Hydrogen (0.1–0.2%).

Mars' Atmosphere = By far the predominant gas is Carbon Dioxide, making up 95.9 percent of the atmosphere's volume. The next 6 most abundant gases are Argon (2.0%), Nitrogen (1.9%), Oxygen (0.14%), Carbon Monoxide (0.07%), Water Vapor (0.03%) and Nitric Oxide (0.013%). Trace elements include Neon, Krypton, Formaldehyde, Xenon, Ozone, and Methane.

Venus' Atmosphere = The atmosphere of Venus is composed mainly of Carbon Dioxide (96.5%), along with a small amount of Nitrogen (3.5%) and other trace elements (Sulfur Dioxide, Argon, Water Vapor, Carbon Monoxide, Helium, Neon, Hydrogen Chloride, Hydrogen Fluoride).

In the Dreamwave continuity, Cybertron had a light oxygen-based atmosphere that served the cooling needs of its inhabitants to avoid overheating. Just thought I'd mention that.
